Music in basketball games... - Message Board Basketball Forum

I was wondering if anyone had any information on how music is selected for video games. I recently did a rap song about basketball and most everyone that has heard it says it needs to be on NBA Live. I dunno how to go about getting in touch with them though. If anyone has anything that can help please let me know. You can check the song out at www.myspace.com/nicekrispy

I like that it actually took some thought as opposed to junk like Q-Tip.

and yes, that song is better than much of the music in the EA Sports basketball games.

You may have trouble getting it on a game b/c of the cursing. I seem to remember all curse words edited out of the EA songs.

anyways, good work and keep busting your ass b/c music is a crazy hard biz to break into.

well, does 2k sports have hip-hop in there games? i've always played live, but i know 2k sports has been getting bigger the past couple of years too

WAY better than "It's in da Game" on the NBA Live 05 games. Good beat in that one, but the lyrics were absolutely horrible.

good luck on that. I garuntee that have deals in place with record companies to promote artists. Prob. need interest from a record label first. Otherwise, just try contacting someone at the company and keep trying. Pretty nice though.

I listened the other day and forgot to comment, so I will now...

I was sitting at my computer doing some stuff and a couple minutes later I realized I was still listening to your song. What that means is that it wasn't bad enough to get on my nerves and make me turn it off, and it wasn't good enough to really keep my interest. That's more than I can say for most of the music in basketball games though, so you may be on to something
