Other guys in his range, that he's not definitley better than: Cousy and Jason Kidd. I think GP is in that second tier of PG's all time.

He is definately better than Kidd. Though its still kind of close. Frazier doesn't deserve to be above Payton

If you are just going by primes, and not longevity and careers, then you could make a case for Payton. Kidd was able to play well with the suns, and he was able to lead the nets to two finals appearances. GP didn't have as big of an impact IMO outside of Seattle that Kidd was able to have throughout his career. He isn't playing nearly as well as he once did, and he's still a top 10 PG.

A myth.

Jason Kidd is around 34 right now, and is still solid I'll admit. Only putting 11ppg, but 10apg/8rpg is nice. However Payton around that age was a 20ppg/8apg All-Star PG. So though it seems like he fell fast, he was still a sold PG around that time.

And what does Kidd doing well in other teams have to do with anything? Payton was loyal and sticked to the Sonics in his prime, Kidd was traded a lot. Thats a bad thing for GP?

Why does Frazier not deserve to be but Cousy?

Screw titles no way Cousy was a better player than Either...and Frazier is actually as good a defender as GP...maybe better

Magic - Lock
Isiah - Lock
------------------
stockton
Frazier
Payton
cousy
------------------
kidd
nash

I think the glove is top 5, not many players can combine solid offense with supreme defense, GP could very well be a top 5 two way player of all time....

He's borderline, but he was a better all-around player than both Nash and Kidd. That's a fact.

It's borderline.... but he was easily the GOAT defensive PG, with Frazier in 2nd place

Too many ways you can put it, if they were in the best years, Payton is top 5 but consistency, I think they are pretty close. I be honest thou, I didn't like when he was with Lakers, Heat and Celtics.
