With such high expectations of themselves it's a sure thing that the guys will play on a much higher level from the get-go. On a lower note, seems that we're being primed ahead of time for problems with May and Harrington. Brezec isn't starting out on a very good note, either.
Nice thought on Webber but doubt he'd come here. If so certainly not for vet min. as while he's nowhere near what he used to be he's not exactly a chump. Expect he'd want the sort of money that we'd have to commit to him as our 5th starter alongside Felton, JRich, Crash and Okafor for like 3 years at 7 a season or so but I'd actually like to see that when i think about it despite my initial reaction being no way. Think we'd be covered for depth behind that 5 too with current roster.
If he was on that contract above would he fit under the cap or would we have to release more than Harrington?
Reading reports he's only interested in going back to Detroit and he says wants to go to a championship contender and a dallas deal fell through on contract length (not sure if wants more or less than offered). Detroit to resign him said they may need to trade away Flip Murray or Nazr Mohammed and perhaps Mohammed would fit although not sure we'd want his 4 years at 6 mil salery considering he's injury prone at times.
If Shamsports is correct we only have around 3 million left til we hit the cap limit. Detroit is already right at or above the tax limit and are showing 14 guaranteed deals...so I'm guessing they want to cut some salary in order to get Webber? If that's the case I don't really see how we can help them out...but how many can at this stage?
The best I can come up with that'll pass the trade checker is a 2 for 1 deal (Harrington + Primoz for Nazr) that'd net them expirings, and even then they'd have to cut one to make room for Webber. Might as well just pay the little bit of luxury tax.
