I would've also accepted: poor jumpshot, over-dribbling/palming, forces passes, needs to add strength, and defense.

his jumpshot was on last night and dribble drives are a part of their offense. I know that he tries to do too much off the dribble and it gets him in trouble.

He's one of those guys who's game translates much better in the nba than college and Caliparis system.

Oh I'm a big fan of Derrick, don't get me wrong. I'm just being realistic. His jump shot was on against MSU the other night, against guys I call great defenders in Walton and Lucas, but I still consider it a weakness. It could be just the same as Corey Brewer last season and wouldn't doubt it if it was. I agree, Calipari's system is flawed. He's the same type of coach Bill Self is, get a bunch of talented players to cover up your weakness as a coach. In the end, talent will prevail most of the time.

Like I said, I'm a big, big Derrick fan--and I'd love to have Derrick on the Nets. I say this with Devin Harris looking like he's closing the gap between him and Deron and Chris Paul as the best point guards for the future. I also say this after he stringed along my college university and played us like suckers. Should tell you how much of a fan I am.

Hey,not every PG's jumpshot is truly consistent.Rose is an exciting Combo Guard who if he learns to tone it down a little bit could be a good ScG in the NBA.
If he can average 16/6/5 in the NBA I think he'd be of some success.

Brewer had horrible form and shot the ball well for like 3 games in the tournament, rose on the other hand has a good looking form and gets most of his shots off the dribble. There's room for improvement and he'll get it down in a few years.

brewer should have never been drafted anywhere near the first round, he's not all that athletic and has a hard time putting the ball on the floor. Can play some good defense but he can thank florida for his nice rookie contract.

Derrick Rose has an ugly shooting form also.

Corey Brewer although wasnt athletic or great at anything else did have a good year and good postseason workouts which got him drafted at #7,Brewer had the ideal size at 6'9 and eight at 190 to at least do something in the NBA.

Look at two posts above yours. It tells you how big of a fan of Derrick I am. Perhaps I should have added something for your own edification.

It's necessary criticism--he will need to work on those things to get himself ready for the NBA. Ofcourse, I'd take him #1 overall still with those faults but he'll have a Mike Conley Jr. type of season--great in some games, bland in others. Which is not bad, but you'll have to point to a mixture of those weaknesses as to why.

The most ready freshman for the NBA in my opinion is Kevin Love. He's just so well polished for the NBA. Beasley being a tweener is going to be a big adjustment at the next level. Gordon..has went from the best player in the start of the season to obscurity. Derrrick is an opportunity, but there's still a lot of questions. Kevin is ready, no doubt about it in my mind.

And how many games has Derrick played? He's still shooting 65% from the line. Derrick has been shooting well but the small sample of 3 tournament games is still yet to convince me. It's still an area he'll need to work on.

I whole-heartily disagree. Corey has game. It's unfortunate that he's on a team with no real identity. Corey's a team player--he needs to be on a real team to showcase his talent. When you have guys all playing for themselves and carry a losing attitude, Corey's game gets lost in the mix. He has all-around talent and is just in the wrong situation. He wasn't a lotto pick to me, but a first rounder? Hell yes.

rose has a nice, guick release that you want from your point guard. Hitting that pull up jumper from the FT line can really open up the court for the whole team, in the half court and on the break.

Brewer was a stick that would have never went in the top 20 if he didn't play for florida.

i loved him in college but he has role player written all over him. Not really someone i waste a lottery pick on. He could be a bruce bowen with a better offense down the road but bowen didn't even get drafted.
He'd be a solid contributor on a real team.

I've never seen Derrick Rose play, but this statement just made me laugh.
