Default OJ Mayo - where is he going to college

Has anyone heard anything about where OJ Mayo might be leaning for college? I was checking out rivals, and Syracuse was one of the many teams he was interested in at this point and I was just wondering if that was an at all realistic hope...?

If he plays a single second of college basketball, I'll be surprised.

I'm VERY confused then. I thought the NBA imposed the age limit so there were no more HS players able to go straight to the NBA...

Exclamation She tears your heart in halves put pieces them together in fourths...

What's up with this kid Mayo? I've heard he's good but is he an extremely athletic freak? He'll probably be a bust.

I didn't say anything about him going straight to the NBA. He'd still have to sit out a year between high school graduation and entering the NBA draft.

I just don't think he'll be playing college basketball during that time.

He's very athletic, and he is the best player in 2007, but he's not an "athletic freak." He isn't quite as explosive as Rose, Gordon, or his teammate Bill Walker. I guess the best way to describe Mayo would be a slightly bigger, and more athletic, Chauncey Billups.

I'm even more confused now. Why wouldn't he play college ball? Isn't it a good way to stay in top shape for the draft and showcase your talents? Also, it's not like he's gonna hafta take classes or anything. Players like that almost never do and just get wtvr they want from boosters.

Maybe he doesn't feel like it. Maybe he'll go to IMG for a year. Maybe he'll sign a deal with Nike or Reebok and just do...I don't know, whatever for a year.

He doesn't need to showcase his talents. I think it's safe to say NBA teams know what he can do.

Have you ever wondered why you've heard absolutely nothing legitimate about his recruitment, other than talk of him visiting USC and speculation that he'll follow Huggins to K-State?

You keep asking "why why why," and I don't know. No one knows. But O.J. Mayo and college basketball don't quite add up.

What, specifically, about his abilities leads you to believe that?

If he does go to college, it will be less than a year before probation hits.

Of course. All he has to do is keep up his grades until his seasons over, then he can just coast until the draft.
