Default The Dude appears in every scene?

just saw this from a blog entry copied across the blogosphere:

"The Dude is in every scene of the movie. Even in the scene where the Nihilists are ordering pancakes you can see the van in which the Dude and Walter are driving."

    ...

hey, i love it, but what about the tumbleweed on the beach that opens the movie??

Since it's kind of an updated, absurd take on films like The Big Sleep it makes sense that the detective character is in every scene, because those detectives stories are essentially first person.

Also it's chock full of philosophy

Say what you will about the tenets of National Socialism at least it is an ethos.

jesus, you said it man. that looks like a nice collection, although the book seems to be part of an entire lebowski library wing at amazon. i should have guessed it, but wow.

One of the Coens was a philosophy major. That's why the movie has tons of philosophy references including those who believe in nothing

yea i loved that... that and their tremendous skill at integrating such ideas in a way that everyone could appreciate. those dream sequences spring to mind, but then the whole movie was of similar fabric, just a little less pointed.

i mean, if it wasn't for the awesome animation, i don't think i would have been able to get through the lecturish style of waking life.

Also there is a Philip Seymour Hoffman conspiracy video up on youtube. Apparently it was the Illuminati and he was a sacrifice.

hah! i heard the illuminati invented the universe and the four elemental forces in a burst of condescension, but blamed it on some nincompoop named "god." a prairie dog concept for prairie dogs to believe in. neat equation, no?

so now, every time someone prays to "god" or a physicist tests natural law, you can be sure that some illuminati somewhere is snig gering in to his control device. just accept it.

but, but seriously... so it was a mix of heroin, coke, benzos and... a fourth major thing that PSH OD'd on? motherf--ker.

but still, doesn't it sound a bit like cobain-territory when he OD'd on some stuff a month or two before lining up the shotgun out of necessity? like, a very smart person doesn't go from point alpha to point omega unknowingly... right?

geez, this stuff can get depressing.

so here i am, a crappy artist - writer very, very-slowly working on my piss-poor MO... killing myself with booze all the while. like a wannabe christie brown / faulkner / behan. as if.

maybe i'm wrong, but it seems that the primary reason we destroy ourselves in this manner is insufficient company of minds, insufficiebt sangha, insufficient tribe... people you can slug on the bicep and call friends. and/or people who can benefit from whatever you have to offer. na'mean?

ANYWAY, this last one's pretty big, but we like it... we really do.
