Has anyone looked at the numbers? Can we even put something in front of Darko that is compelling? I would love to have him here, but am way too lazy to look at the numbers.

We have about $14 million in cap space right now but we are allowed to surpass that number with Wallace's salary, and Okafor's extension. Same with Felton's extension. The only issue would be reaching the luxury tax with 5 contracts between 8 and 12 million, but that probably won't bother management too much if we make the playoffs b/c even Bobcat arena will sell out with a 45+ win team (a year or two down the road, probably). But anyways...

The Magic pulled their $6.8 million qualifying offer to Milicic, making him an unrestricted free agent. He can sign with any team, and the Memphis Grizzlies could be his destination.

I am still yet to see anyone report that we are interested in Darko. I just see it difficult for us to sign a another decent center after this season b/c we won't have any cap space once we re-sign Wallace and extend Okafor.

You know what helps us is the MLE was set much lower than everyone thought it would be (was rumored to be 5.5-6 million but set at 5.3+ million). Which means teams hoping to land any of the bigger name FA with the MLE decreases a little bit. It also means outside of Memphis no teams are going to be able to offer Darko more than the 5.3 million (MLE).

Ya, I just hope Memphis goes after Varajao or Moore or someone else and saves their cap space for next offseason.

The Spurs have been trying to trade off the rights to Louis Scola, best PF in the Euroleague, not sure what we could offer but he would be a great player to fill the post need and he would come cheaper than Darko or some of the other names that have been thrown out.

Varejao is known as a flopper--not a good reputation to bring to the Cats. He looks like a moron just running around the court and I liked him better last season.

What about Scola?? Anyone have any thoughts on trying to obtain him?
