Rudy vs USA in Gold medal game

Wow. What a performance. That was so amazing to watch. He was hitting huge 3s, and creating great plays for his teammates (including a couple beautiful pass). Also, there was "the poster" on Dwight. The .gif doesn't do it justice, but I figured I'd post it anyway. I can't wait for youtube highlights. 22pts in 17 minutes I believe.

Thanks for posting that gif!!! I got up last night/this morning to watch the game down in the den - when the wife got up to let her rat-dogs outside I started telling her about it and she was like, "that's nice, I'm going back to bed." Can't wait to show this to her. What I enjoyed was how confident his bearing was - he wasn't intimidated by anyone on the floor.........I am SOOOO excited for this season!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Impressive, but I was getting a little angry he was doing so well when it was getting close....

Hopefully he shows that same play here in Portland... or more importanly, in LA :)

If he hadn't been in foul trouble all game he would have been a clutch shot for spain in the last 2 minutes. his 3 against tayshaun from the top of the key was great.he does that a lot just creates his own shot.I dont know whether he will have the same freedom in Portland.I have seen a lot of him since he started to play at joventut when he was 17.I hope the NBA ,in particular Portland don't ruin his career like it almost did to Drazen!

I am Spanish and have seen all the Rudy's games for 3 years. I can assure you that if he and Blazer Coach works correctly it will be much better than Brandon Roy.

When Drazen Petrovic went to the NBA he was much much bigger than Rudy Fernandez is now and the blazers nearly ruined his career!!He then proved at the Nets for(unfortunately) a short time how good he was.I hope for rudy's sake and the blazer's sake that history is not repeated!

He'll get time to prove his play in the NBA for sure. Nate McMillan really likes his game. It'll be fun watching him this year. Can't wait.

I am not sure why you think the Blazers almost ruined his career. As a rookie he played in 77 games averaged 7.6 points shooting 48.5% in 12.6 minutes. Very respectable for a rookie. His second year he only played in 18 games before being traded. Remember he was playing behind Drexler, a Hall of Fame player.

Notice in the stats below, he really didn't bloom until the 91-92 season, 1.5 seasons after his trade from Portland.
