This is the first time I have ever made a thread about the legendary Dr. Martin Luther King Jr being a Republican.
May this great American rest in peace.

Re: The great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican
This fool probably thinks MLK would be at a Trump rally cheering for the forced removal of millions of undocumented immigrants and barring an entire religion from America.

Re: The great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican
Martin Luther King said this about Republicans:
[QUOTE]The Republican Party geared its appeal and program to racism, reaction, and extremism. All people of goodwill viewed with alarm and concern the frenzied wedding at the Cow Palace of the KKK with the radical right. The

No one knows who MLK Jr would support. In all likelihood he would be supporting Ted Cruz or Ricky Rubio, but none of us know for sure.
What we do know is that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr would stay loyal to the Republicans, the party that has his back and helped him fight against the Democrats who wanted to end the Civil Rights movement.

Many other Republicans were also against Senator Goldwater, and remained Republicans.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was not afraid to speak out and fight for what's right, even if it meant speaking out against rogue racist senators in his own party.

I guess you miss the first part where he talks about the Republican party

MLK was gearing up to march for workers rights and was pro union just before he died. But he'd back the trickle down boys today?
Stop it.

bro, I don't write history and facts, I only report on them.
None of us know for sure which candidate Dr. MLK Jr (may God rest his soul) would support, but it is likely he would support the candidate who is the biggest conservative Christian.
It is also likely that the good Doctor would stay loyal to the party that had his back vs the Dems during the Civil Rights movement.
MLK Jr did not spend much of his time talking about economic theory, so we do not know if he would support trickle down economics or not.
What we do know is that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was a Republican for his entire life and on the day that he died, he died a Republican, standing up for his beliefs of true racial equality.
Democrats today believe egalitarianism to be a dirty word. They are constantly segregating people in to groups based on race, and they have a history of doing this, going all the way back to the Democratic party's formation of the KKK, and their internment of Japanese Americans in the Manzanar concentration camps. These are all things that Dr. King Jr. was vehemently against.
In contrast, the Republicans of today are all about egalitarianism. An idea that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spent his entire life fighting for.

Whatever tiny morsel of credibility you had left just up and vanished.

Re: The great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican
MLK was a democratic socialist...
Of course socialism wasn't what he was mainly about - attempts at political recuperation can only obscure his radical commitment to racial equality...
Just as they can only obscure his radical commitment to the principles of Christianity. MLK is arguably the most Christ-like figure in modern times - what you would imagine a Christ of flesh and bone would actually look like in a world where mythology has to contend with recorded fact.

So it Caitlyn Jenner. What do you read into that?
