Default Greg Oden to have wrist surgery

"Greg Oden said Wednesday night he doesn't yet know whether he'll need surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist. But one of the area's leading rehabilitation experts, who has worked extensively with Oden, as well as a top surgeon in hand-related orthopedics, said surgery is normal for this type of injury." Default yeah

He's getting surgery on Friday... apparently it may take him anywhere from 4 weeks to 4 months to recover. It is on his right wrist... hopefully it won't affect him too bad

I read that he will be able to participate in most of the team's practice though.

Friday's updates:

"Two-time national high school Player of the Year Greg Oden will have surgery today to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist. The 7-foot Ohio State-bound center from Lawrence North was hurt Feb. 28 and played in six more high school games and two all-star events. Leading experts say rehabilitation can take from four weeks to several months." Indianapolis Star

"The Indianapolis Star Indiana Mr. Basketball hasn't played since the Roundball Classic on April 9." Indianapolis Star

"Oden and Lawrence North teammate Mike Conley are expected to start summer school at Ohio State on Monday. Odenís projected recovery period wonít be known until after the surgery." Columbus Dispatch

Wrist injuries are probably the hardest injuries to diagnose on how long it will take to recover. They could take forever to heal, here's hoping for a speedy recovery.
