Default Fellow Black Sabbath fans, am I the only one who thinks Dio > Ozzy?

I know there's a few Sabbath fans here and I realize that what I'm saying would be blasphemy for most Sabbath fans as Ozzy is practically the godfather of metal BUT aside from showmanship, there are better metal vocalists than the Ozz man and Dio is one of the GOATs. Personally, my fave Sabbath album is Heaven and Hell followed by Mob Rules and Dehumanizer in my top 5...yes I know the first few Ozzy/Sabbath albums were legendary but Sabbath started to sound like shit by the late 70s and then they fired Ozzy for fukking up too much and Dio came in in the early 80s and Sabbath again sounded great. My fave Sabbath line up, Dio, Iommi, Butler and Appice

Uhhh no you're not the only one. Ozzy is one of the most overrated singers in history. Ozzy is more a brand than anything. He's not even their second best singer behind Ronnie. I have Glenn Hughes ahead of him. Now that man can sing!

Sabbath became a heavier, more Metal band once RJD arrived.

Funny you posted this I was listening to The Straightener while browsing ISH. Outro to wheels of confusion but I prefer it to the song as a whole lol. Dio while having a better voice technically a lot of times comes off as cheesy to me. Not that I dislike all the songs with him, there's some head bangers for sure. should give him more of a listen it has been awhile

Did you know that Seventh Star was supposed to be Tony Iommi's solo project? The record company actually forced Tony to use the Black Sabbath name on the album, and Tony was the only original Sabbath member in that record.

But yeah your right, everyone of Sabbath's other vocalists were better than him, Tony Martin and Ian Gillan.

So what do you guys think of Born Again? Me, aside from the muddy production sound, I love it.

I especially like the fact that they labeled it as Black Sabbath feat. Tony Iommi

Heart Like A Wheel - ****ing great song

You've heard the Iommi/Hughes solo stuff right?

I dunno man, I think Tony's riffing sounded heavier and sludgier since Heaven & Hell.

You also can't tell me an album like Dehumanizer sounds anything remotely close to Ozzy-era Sabbath.

Nah, gotta check out that Iommi Hughes stuff.

Tony Martin does sound a bit like RJD, but he kicks ass in his own right.

Both lead singers are good but I liked Ozzie better.

Yeah definitely check out that Iommi/Hughes collabo. They did two albums together.

There's nothing special about Ozzy as a vocalist, but it's hard to mentally disassociate him from Paranoid, SBS, Masters of Reality etc.

Just hard to image those albums being what they are without the Ozzman. Even with a stronger technical vocalist.
