Where would this road to the championship rank in terms of toughness?
Grizzlies
Clippers
Spurs
Heat
If OKC wins it all this year, would this be the toughest road to the championship of all time? All 50 win teams, 3 teams considered to be contenders and a 4th team that has played like one whenever full strength. No HCA vs the 60 win Spurs, playing the Heat going for a 3peat, playing the Clippers who are rolling and just won a playoff game by 40 pts, etc.
Where would it rank?

Would be a hell of a run, but I don't see it stacking up against the run by '69 Boston. That was remarkable, the team barely made the playoffs IIRC.

It would be a very tough road, but you dont need to worry about that since they have little chance getting past Memphis. Even if they played against the odds and made it to WCF, Spurs would make sure they aint going any further than that.

1995 Houston Rockets playoffs:
Utah: 60-22 (Stockton + Malone)
Phoenix: 59-23 (Barkley)
San Antonio: 62-20 (Robinson)
Orlando: 57-25 (Shaq + Penny)
They faced the top 4 seeds in the entire league (Orlando tied with Seattle for fourth best).

Mavs road to title could've been more difficult if the Spurs made it to WCF and if the Lakers could at least make it a series. Sometimes a team underperforms and you have no idea why it happens. But if it benefits your team, thats good news isnt it?
