I would be amazed at presidential ticket from NY/NJ, so I don't think it would be VP.

Trump has been consulting with Giuliani too and a couple of years ago, Christie was the top candidate of Roger Ailes. I'm surprised by this, but Christie does need to find a way out of New Jersey. His approval rating is 29%.

Also for all the nonsense about Hillary facing charges, Chris Christie would only make sense as a VP pick if the theory of Trump actively trying to destroy the Republican party is true. He is still very much in danger of being indicted . His two close aides go on trial in May and they just won approval to subpoena the self-serving report that Christie used state money to pay for.

This trial can easily lead closer to Christie. Also a guy even more important to Christie, David Sampson, is rumored to be indicted as well. The corruption investigation of the Port Authority is still very much ongoing.
If you remember Sampson traded favors with/extorted the CEO of United Airlines to set up a flight that went to his vacation home in South Carolina.

It's also worth nothing that Britain recovered using this policy far, far faster than the US did with FDR at the wheel.
