Default Postgame notes: Rockets 101, Bulls 100

qThe Rockets improved to 7-1 in last eight games with the Bulls after tonight's 101-100 win. Houston is now 3-0 at home this season when scoring 100 or more points. Overall, the Rockets moved to 33-3 in home games when they reach 100 points under Jeff Van Gundy.

qWith a 48-35 advantage on the boards tonight, Houston has outrebounded their opponent in seven of its nine games this season, with five of those outings being by a double-digit rebounding margin. The Rockets also had their second outing this season with two players in double-figure rebounding in the same game: Yao Ming (12) and Tracy McGrady (11).

qTracy McGrady finished with a team-high 21 points and 11 rebounds, which marked his first double-double since scoring 23 points and pulling down 11 boards vs. Denver (3/3/06). He also had a team-best seven assists tonight. McGrady has now had seven or more helpers in a game five times this season, which is a mark he reached just eight times in 47 games played in 2005-06.

qYao Ming posted 20 points and 12 rebounds tonight. He is now averaging 27.8 points and 10.3 rebounds in Houston's four home games this season. Yao actually had 10 points and nine rebounds before the break, coming up one board shy of recording a double-double by halftime. He has accomplished that seven times already in his career.

qScott Padgett recorded all 11 of his points and five of his six rebounds in the first half.

qRafer Alston scored a season-high 19 points in tonight's game, surpassing his previous high of 15 set at Utah (11/1/06). He was also 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. Alston is now 13-of-29 (.448) from 3-point range over the last five games.

qLuther Head was also 3-of-6 from downtown tonight. Head is now 12-of-24 (.500) from beyond the 3-point line over the last five outings.

qBen Gordon recorded a game-high 37 points off the bench tonight, becoming just the second player in the NBA this season to score 30 points off the bench. Phoenix guard Leandro Barbosa scored 30 points off the bench on opening night of the 2006-07 NBA season at the L.A. Lakers (10/31/06). Gordon also set the top scoring performance against the Rockets this season. The previous high was 34 by Michael Redd at Milwaukee (11/8/06). The top bench total by a Houston opponent this year was 22 by Charlie Bell in that same game.

Rockets played a sloppy game last night but still squeezed a win out of it. Good thing they were up 21 at one time cuz it seemed like they needed every point of that lead.

last year the rockets would have probably lost that game, the win shows they have matured as a team and are learning how to win even on nights when they are not at their best. good win and congrats to the houston fans on a great start!

Default The greatest sports team in human history

They are not the strongest team, both in offense and defense.
But it is the greatest team ever in human history - everyone
is unselfish and team first. I do not see this often, as so many
people are so self-centered.

I hope the team members know and remember that. I just
respect this kind of team (even though you respect the talents
of Shaq and Kobe, I just see them differently).

The greatest team in human history.
