In my opinion Parker is the older better more rounded player and will start at SF/SG with Mo being the other. Fred will be coming off the bench for cusr they're not even comparable. Why does everyone in the forum put him ahead of Parker?
The problem is Parker's lack of NBA experience. He's an experienced guy....in the game. But there will still be a learning curve. I think Parker needs to start though, with his better size and better range. Jones is the first guard for sure off the bench.
I think Parker will start. However, the first substitution (other than Rasho) will be Jones for Parker. Parker will then come back in to relieve Ford with Parker now running the point and guarding the opposing SG. Parker was the primary ballhander for Macabi so he and Jones could co-exist in the backcourt together for short stretches. Also it never hurts to have a real quick backcourt with Ford and Jones.
the starting job is parkers to lose in training camp. All the discusion on possible raps line ups becomes so complicated this season because everyone on the roster can fill at least 2 spots accept Rasho, so im not gonna even try to guess anything.
I will say that the talent level between our prospective starters and many of our bench players are very similar so it all depends on performance. Particularly at the 2 and 3. Obvioiusly Bosh and T.J are locked.
guys just remember just because Parker played good in another league, that doesnt mean that hes going to play good in the NBA. Sarunas, former teammate of Parker at Tel Aviv now playing with the Indiana Pacers, also came from another league and he was a 3 times MVP there, and he is having trouble adjusting to the fast pace NBA, and Pacers arent even a fast pace team...so dont count Fred Jones out, he might not start in the beginning but near the middle of the season he might
