Default Raptors Release Alvin Williams

It's a shame it had to end this way. Alvin was one of the best Raptors.

Ya i dont know if he will retire. It looks like if he had wanted he would now and save us the money. Looks like he wants to come back and prove he can play. Good Luck Alvin and Thanks for the years.

Bring him back into the front office somewhere. Or make him special assistant under Sam Mitchell in charge of the point guards.

Alvin was the perfect example of a player who wasn’t the most gifted physically but had the heart, desire, and determination to be better than he 'should' have been. If only you could bottle the effort he put forth and give it to those guys that never live up to their potential.

Alvin left his mark on this franchise and the city, and NO Raptor fan will forget what he did for us in the playoff series against the Knicks. Clutch baby, clutch!

Class act and an example of what a basketball player should be.

I'm going to miss that cross-over then quick fadeaway shot he had that always seemed to go in.

Always. I was convinced that it would go in 100% of the time in the last 4 minutes of a game. Alvin was as clutch as any Raptor not named VC.

We'll miss you Alvin, aka Mr. 4th quarter. Your the epitomy of what any good player and club should stand for. Thanks for all the effort and heart you put into every minute on the floor, it won't be forgoten. Your legacy will last a lot longer then the bullsh** of many other over hyped players who have 'stopped in for a cup of coffee in toronto.'

Best of wishes in all your future endeavours, hope to see you as part of the organization is some aspect down the road. Thanks

Alvin never wanted to be let go. BUT he said that if any team would take the chance, he will try to make a comeback. He said this on a "The Score" interview. He said that he would (and is) working extremely hard to make it back into the league where he think he will play for years to come. Great work ethic this guy has. So don't plan on him retiring anytime soon (unless circumstances demand it).

Maybe BC should have kept him. Alvin has to be close to 100% after 2 years of rest and he would be a great addition to the team (a better one than Derrick Martin).
