Default Salmons or Jones

Is anyone honestly upset at the fact that we did not sign salmons and instead picked up Fred Jones?

If you were upset at how the situation turned out please tell me why you think Salmons would have fit in our system better then jones.

Most guys on this board are 100% behind every move BC makes.

I will play the opposite. I would have preferred Salmons (not now because he's an idiot), at the time of signing because he's younger, and is bigger and more versitile. It is tough to argue against those things.

Not much younger I know.

I would have also preffered Salmons just b/c he can play 3 positions and is 6'7" - but Jones is gonna be nice b/c he is really atheletic.

I actually like Jones more that Salmons, I think he can get to the basket and drawl fools, he can shoot the three. Unlike some of the posters in here, i dont see him playing the 1 and thats something Salmons could have brought. As long as Calderon and more importantly TJ stay healthy we should be fine. And at the cost, he's a better bargain than salmons.

If both players were gonna make the same money then I would much prefer John Salmons, But he is full of **** and is not worth 5 mil a season so I'm happy with Fred Jones.

Sounds like Salmons would have provided more versatility. Money wise in the short-term it is better.

It seems Fred Jones will be a better running mate for Ford.

I think the opposite of everyone here. Sure John Salmons is versitile but I feel Jones is a better basketball player. Jones didn't play to his full potential in Indiana because the Pacers system didn't fit Jones' stlye of play. Jones would play really well in an up tempo style that we want to play. Indiana also didn't give him the playing time that he deserved. The 14 games that Jones started he averaged 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. I would be really happy if he could do that for us. His career high is 31 points when he played the entire game. If we give him the playing time and play the up tempo style, this guy could become a really good player. I was hoping that BC would try to sign this guy. Man, why couldn't any of the other GMs make moves like BC is doing this offseason.

Jones will be more exciting to watch as well. Is it the fall yet?

By saying this, you are not playing the opposite. BC preferred Salmons; if he didn't back out, we would never have Fred Jones.

I think Salmons would have been the better player, but not two years and 19 million dollars better.

As for who I would have preferred, Salmons only because of his playmaking ability and versitlity but I really like Jones and his athleticism so I aint to broken up about it. I really dont like that Salmons is trying to blame God for this fiasco.

He wasnt worthy

I like Fred Jones better than Salmons. We would have over-paid for Salmons if he signed. Jones is a solid player and we got him for a lot less money. I also think he will fit in the run and gun system that it seems the Raps will use.
