Welcome to the post-Vince era

It's horrible how long we've needed the same thing.

Nah. We always had scoring options on the wings (Rose, Peterson, James). What we need is good defense accompanied with that scoring threat and ability to create for others.

I'd like to see him play more of the role Dell Curry used to have when he was with us.

There is a difference between a scorer like Mo Pete and a scorer who can create like Jalen Rose.

Mo Pete got his points off of other players mainly from shooting the ball.

Ben Gordon, Melo, Granger, Roy are players who can create for others which make everything easier.

Good point Prodogy:

Morris Peterson was one dimensional.
Jalen Rose stagnated the offensive with his 17 second post up plays.
Mikes James; A one-dimensional chucker at the point guard position..another killer of the offensive flow.

The swing man is what this team needs. Ya I'm stating the obvious but I am because most people are just stating that we need a scorer, but its more than that. This team needs more than just a scorer, they need an athelete, a playmaker (not just scoring but setting up teammates), and an above average perimeter defender. Vince brought most of these, ofcourse his defence was questionable at times. I think this is what Chamerlain meant about the hole that VC left.

What we need is a 2-3 punch. We obviously/most likely won't get a scoring/slasher in one player this off-season unless it comes in the draft. But we might be able to get a slasher at one position and a scorer at the next. SG seems like a logical scoring position. But the thing is, without getting that scorer and slasher in one player this season, we might as well go with the next logical choice.

Thanks for making my words make sense! That's exactly what I meant.
