    alright alright alright!

Kevin Hart is funny but he can't be considered a legend yet, he's still in his prime.

Chappelle, C.K., CR, Williams I will absolutely give you. Granted of the sets I've seen only Chappelle, and Rock have sets better than Grown Little Man.

Lewis Black has real good sets, good books, and does great work on t.v. But his career has been longer, I wouldn't say he's a better comic. Colbert is a different beast.

And thank you for actually listing some guys.

He has great set up, great timing and that leads to great delivery.
I threw Griffin and Laurence in there, I was actually thinking about not putting them in there. The reason I put Eddie Griffin is because of his part in Duce Bigalow. I liked Martin Laurence in Blue Streak. I haven't watched their stand up.

Maybe I'm putting too much stock into stand-up in comparison to you guys.

And Kizzle yes I've seen plenty of sets from Griffin and Martin and a great many others. I was really into stand up.

Only a handful match Hart's first two.

Yes he is probably the greatest black comedian of all time. Am I the only one who can't stand Chris Rock though? I think he is terrible

    Probably?

No. He does not have an iota of Pryor's funny.

Him and Dave Chappelle are the only black comedians that are actually funny

Richard Pryor? Dave Chappelle? Eddie Murphy? Bill Cosby? Chris Rock? They all had more innovative and funnier standup material.... hell you could even argue Katt Williams, Martin Lawrence and Chris Tucker were funnier than Kevin Hart...

Dave Chapelle is "so" overrated. Nobody was checking for him before Chappelle's Show, now all of a suden he's the next Richard Pryor. I remember him from Woo, haha.

He's one of the few black comedian that can make stadiums laugh without spewing a million race/stereotype jokes so I guess I give him major credit for that. The subject matter he jokes about is diverse but yet still somewhat personal and just like OP, listening to him in interviews he makes everyone else laugh as well. I've seen him kill on The Breakfast Club, The Foxxhole and other radio shows that are tough environments.

Why is the term legend used so selectively here anyways? You don't have to be a top ten comedian ever to be a legend. Paul Mooney is a legend to me and no one has even uttered the dude's name here. Does that mean that his impact in the comedy game wasn't immense? Hell no. Does that mean that he wasn't funny? Hell no.

Kizzle must be trolling to compare Hart to Mike Epps. I like Epps, but get the f*ck out because you and I both know that isn't an accurate comparison at all. Hart is really carrying the torch for black comedians these days because all of the other major, high level ones have been on a hiatus or retired. That's a lot of pressure but he's got a plan and has been handling it well while making me laugh like a retard.

    Props to him.

I'm not a stand-up kinda guy but when my friends show me something, I can't refuse. My friend showed me one set of Katt Williams with Li'l Jon in it and I barely chuckled to be honest. Now, when my friends downloaded Laugh At My Pain and Seriously Funny, damn, I couldn't stop laughing, even if I was watching by myself. I've seen a lot of Katt too on shows like Wild'n Out, and he was easily one of the best there, but I honestly find Kevin Hart loads funnier than him.
