Default Thornton Voted #1 in Week's Rookie Rankings

NBA.com's rookie rankings (sorry I can't post a link) has Thornton ranked numero uno above Al Horford (#3 pick in draft), Kevin Durant (#2 pick in draft), and everybody else. While Summer League critics were skeptical of his shooting percentage and renbounding, NBA.com says they're impressed with how he scores and his shooting percentage (almost 50%!), and the rebounding numbers aren't horrible either.

So, original-Thornton-******, how's the crow?

That's because everybody wanted us to pick Acie Law or N. Young. I never considered Thornton falling down to the 14th pick, I figured he would be gone by the 5th pick. I will post a link of somebody that will really be eating crow for his comments:http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/train...Previe w0708# Check out his outlook and how he feels his bustometer going off on Thornton. I still think we will do some damage this year and I have always felt that way all off-season long.

Thornton definitely rocked preseason. But that doesn't always translate into the reg season

Thornton is the real deal. I rank him in the top 3 rooks this year.
Durant looks so far to be leader in ROY.

He was obviously a little nervous last night, but that's to be expected. He was like that the first pre-season game too, and we all know how he followed up on that.

I'm trying not to set my expectations too high yet. He doesn't need that kind of pressure, but I haven't been this excited about a new guy since Shaun Livingston.

I like Thornton, and I think his physicality will help him score alot of points in this league. This year will be a great time for him to develop, as Brand will be injured and he'll get alot of touches. I like him better at SF; I think he's starting at PF right now. I think he could end up a top 7-8 player from this draft, and that is definitely saying something.

Why hasn't he been given more playing time? He played around 11 minutes last game. Are they gradually going to bump up his playing time?

By the way, for those of you who didn't notice, Thornton's already got a new "look". He traded in the short afro for cornrows.

I say it's fine so long as he keeps playing like a monster.

No doubt that Durant is the leader in the ROY category... yet also, I would suggest that you keep a close eye on his shooting percentage.. he is purty awful...

Thorton.. he is going to take some time, I dont presume anything different...

He will have to slowly but surely creep into the clips regular rotation.. but I believe that once he gets rollin' later on in this year.. he is going to become solid and surpase the offencise prowes that is Durant...
