I've never been to Montreal, but if you are assuming that Vegas and South Beach are the best America has to offer... Well, I would simply disagree.

I've spent a couple of weekends in Vegas. It is fun in small doses, but nothing I would ever want to make a consistent destination. I don't like Miami... at all. To me, the climate is awful and everything seems so fake. It is like LA, except more focused on the beach. It might be fun in your teens or early-20s, but I grew out of that phase pretty quickly.

I prefer cities with culture...

NYC and San Francisco are my two favorite cities to visit. I'm going to guess that Montreal is much more like San Fran or Portland than it is Miami or Vegas.
I completely agree with this whole post, except that I do like Miami weather. Nice for hitting the beach. But the city is "meh". Too spread out; there's no "there" there. And its loaded with transplants (seems like the only real locals are the Cubans - slight exaggeration, lol), so that may be why it seems "fake".

NYC and San Francisco are the 2 best places I've ever been. Just full of life, hustle and bustle - the city itself is the attraction, not gimmicks. My hometown Boston is like that too, but not on the level of NYC and SanFran.

Vegas is overrated. If you've been to casinos, gentleman's clubs, bars, etc., its just more of the same concentrated. The resorts are nice to see though.

well i haven't been in that many cities, but from where i've been to, i can tell you that montreal is, imo at least, better than toronto, calgary, fredericton, quebec city, new york as far as night life goes.

As vacation destinations is a different topic. I'm asking strictly about nightlife which I hope that most would assess as small dosages.

Quebec City had the best clubs I've ever been to. We're talking clubs that have about 6 stories and each floor had a live band playing a different genre of music. It was really cool, the girls were also dtf like nothing I've experienced before. Montreal is probably even better though.

Try Eastern Europe if you like crazy multiple story clubs or clubs on top of high rises with gorgeous women.
