Lived about an hour north of LA when I was a kid, moved to San Diego for college, then moved around LA since. Great area, but I do miss SD.

Not LA but I would like to visit "Willow Creek" it's a small mountain town in Northern Cal that has Bigfoot themed restaurants and businesses.

I wouldn't want to live in LA because it is in a region that is seeing the largest population growth in North America while experiencing a sustain drought for a number of years. Heck, the water and energy concerns of the region are far too troubling yet people continue to flock to a city located in a arid climate with depleting water supply.

Every city has its more affluent, desirable areas, and every city has its shitty, unappealing areas, and Los Angeles is no different.

I'd enjoy living there, but only if I had enough money to live in the more prosperous areas. The culture, the nightlife, the climate, the scenery, the b[COLOR="Black"]itc[/COLOR]hes.... what's not to like?

Of course, there is that cloud of smog that seems to have permanently coated the air around the city, but I've heard that LA is taking significant strides toward reducing the level of pollution.

I love it, and the only place I'd consider other than here might be Hawaii. You pretty much have everything you could want here. Living in Orange County is a pretty great compromise if you don't like the city. 30 minutes closer to Vegas, less crime, 15 minutes from the beach, 30 minutes from downtown LA, 1 hour from snowboarding, 2 hours from SD and Mexico. Also no cloud of smog and you've got Disneyland right in the middle of it all. Hot women from all around the world move down here to breed. Great major sports outside of football, great college sports. Oh yeah, the weather is pretty spectacular as well. Man, if you like the outdoors, the california coast only three hours north is one the most beautiful in the world.

Yeah the scummy parts are bad, but it sucks to be poor anywhere doesn't it? The traffic? It's the worst thing ever but you learn to deal.

I live a 15 min train ride from NYC, and let me tell you guys. Big city life is not for everyone. I love it because I have a few days off and can enjoy some of its non-nightlife extremities. I can spend half the day in central park just walking and talking. You can walk all day actually and not realize you haven't seen anything yet. To top it off, you can take the train everywhere so you don't have to worry about parking or traffic. If LA is anything like that, than sure I would love to live there. Although it's true, NYC cost of living IS very high.

I love great "walking" cities with a great public transportation system like NYC and San Fran.

That said, I also loved the vibe of LA, even though it is a different kind of city.

I've lived close to LA my entire life. I love SoCal, so yes, I'd be willing to live in LA, but I suppose it'd really depend on the part of LA we're referring to. If it's West LA (Beverly Hills, Hollywood area), no doubt I would; however, if it's East LA? Nope.
