I agree that our team was better than 22 wins last year, on paper atleast. But, I think we have more talented team this year, we're just lacking the experience, which we obviously have to wait for.
I think Iavaroni's problem is that he doesn't really know what he wants to do. The focus seems to be on defense this year, which I think will be a good thing. It doesn't matter what kind of offense you run, you need defense and since the team is full of youth, they still have the energy, length and athleticism to play solid defense. I think we should see an improvement on the defensive end this year, which should lead to an improvement on the offensive end.
Re: Not much going on in the world of the Grizzlies.....Predictions?
I also have my doubts on Iavaroni, when it comes to what he wants to do. I hope he tries to run more set plays, we have some extra talent in the paint this year with Darko, Gasol and Haddadi, so not utilizing them would not be good. Though I still think we should take the opportunity to run, we have plenty of athleticism to make it work, just need the experience. If they can't run, they need something to fall back on, instead of just passing the ball around the arc and looking for the worst 3 point shot available.
Re: Not much going on in the world of the Grizzlies.....Predictions?
This team is better than 22 wins. The problem is that the west is extremely tough. And its not getting any easier. Every bad team from last year got at least a little better. The grizz might have taken one or two positive steps towards rebuilding this franchise but were they are still a ways off from being competitive.
Wins- 24
Scorer-Gay 21.4ppg
Surprise player- Marc Gasol
Rebounder- Gay
Assists-Conley
Mayo comes in second for roy. But he averages 14ppg 3apg 3rpg and a steal.
Re: Not much going on in the world of the Grizzlies.....Predictions?
I would have to say 26 wins. We will be better but we are gonna lose alot of really close games. I expect our defense to be around two points better than it was last year. I would say that the team will avg 102ppg and our opponets will avg a little over 103ppg.
Re: Not much going on in the world of the Grizzlies.....Predictions?
I agree that we will lose the close games, we still lack experience and closing out games is something that comes with experience. I expect that there will be more close games this year than last year, but closing them out is another chapter.

I expect him to be healthy. He played good by the end of the season and he wasn't completely recovered. I think he could be in the range of 10/5 or similar in 30 mpg. He will be missing a big man capable to score consistently to increase his assists average above 5, though.

Like berraco said, Conley was playing well towards the end of last season, but still wasn't fully recovered. So first of all, I hope that he stays healthy all season. I don't expect his stats to be too high, there's a few guys on the team who will be wanting the ball and wanting to their own thing at times.
Though I do expect Conley to have good shooting percentages, maybe not from beyond the arc, but from the charity stripe and field goals I expect to see solid percentages.
