Default Backup Power Forward

How are we going to address this position? If we re-sign Felton (which looks like a good assumption) we're going to be within 3 million of the luxury tax give or take after we sign the 12th pick and I'd guess one of the 2nd rounders. I'm assuming we'll take a SG at 12th, so that leaves us depending on a 2nd (or May) to get significant minutes at the 4 backing up Boris.

I do not see this organization going over the luxury limit, so that kills the MLE for us (no McDyess).

If Boris goes down with an injury we are flat screwed.

About the best scenario I've seen so far is if Sacramento gets the 1st overall pick (Blake Griffin) then their fans have suggested us doing a Thompson/Udrich for DJ/Nazr swap. I don't want to give up DJ, but I don't see many alternatives.

Any ideas?

We can, I don't know, maybe draft a big man?

We can, I don't know, sign a vet SG for the vet min?

We don't necessarily have to sign our 2nd rounder (we have two picks though).

Do you mean at the 12th pick? I don't really follow the college players, but I was under the assumption there weren't any decent PFs around that spot.

Who would be your suggestions?

We might could get Anthony Parker, but remember we are very close to luxury tax...esp. if we retain May at (heaven help us) his qualifying offer. That's assuming he'd take 2 million or so. I have to think other teams would offer him at least that much. Teams that are more in contention than us.

Relax people, we've got Ajinca. I see us re-signing Felton and going into the preseason with what we've got, then another big trade.

I made a list of about 10 guys we possibly had a shot at drafting, about half of which were PF-type players.

Unfortunately, I get the feeling we're sticking with May.

Why the gruff manner...I figured this board could use some conversation? Because of our cap situation this is a legitimate concern, so I don't understand why this is being greeted with such sarcasm/dismissal.

Per Draft Express mock there are 2 SG/SF types in the 9 to 14 range, Earl Clark & Terrence Williams. Williams is only 6' 6"...so I take it the only realistic option is Clark?

If we take Clark, what are our options to back up the oft injured Bell...and again, it'd have to be about 2 per a year? I think Parker will get a higher offer from a contender...someone like San Antonio.

Also, is this the best way to go when the best potential in our range are shooting guards?

Given time, May will ultimately lose his weight

It certainly appears that adding quality depth is not going to be easy, but I have more confidence in the FO than at any other time in this franchise's short history. On an unrelated note, I'm watching Orlando beat Boston last night and I'm thinking that the Cats could have held their own against Philly and Boston too. Some day, some day.
