Default Dunleavy to be ready for season opener?

Injured Indiana Pacers shooting guard Mike Dunleavy might be back sooner than expected, his coach said today.

"Our medical people are very pleased with his progression," Jim O'Brien said. "Iíve changed my view point to a pessimistic one from a standpoint of him being ready in the middle of the season to one that Iím hoping heíll be ready to go for game one."

How great would that be? Perfect sixth man. Would certainly shut me up (somewhat) about the wing depth.

It would be great, but I'm skeptical of the Pacers and Dunleavy rushing him back into the line-up.

We saw with JO, sometimes its better to just to wait it out. If he is truly ready then thats great.

I agree we don't want another JO/Tinman situation, but their problems were chronic (pun intended for Jamaal). Mike's had this one career long problem that's now, apparently, fixed.

I too am skeptical though and don't want him to see a minute of floor time until he's literally 100%. Him being ready for the season opener would be cutting MONTHS off projected recovery time.
