one more win tomorrow and djoker will have arguably the most successful year in tennis since 1969.

40 minutes before the final starts, djoker vs. fed.

both players killing it right now. djoker with a chance to even the career series, fed with a chance to win this important tournament late in his career.

if anyone is good at managing statistics on here, then here is a question for you-- DID djoker truly just have the best men's season in tennis since 1969?

i mean:

consider that he tied the record for majors won, broke the record for masters-1000's in a season, and finished with 11 tourney wins even though he tied with the top-100 players in LEAST number of tournaments played for the year, along with fed? (17 i think)

also of course, he won the cherry on top of the whipped cream by winning the year end elite-eight tourney, and set the record for consecutive wins at that, with four wins in a row.

...

at the same time, he doesn't seem to have cracked the top ten in tourney wins for a season. ( the winner had 18 IIRC)

the thing is, tho-- were that dude's 18 various wins better than djoke's 11 very elite wins? is there a formula to help us out, here?

Djoker just too good. Definitely one of the best seasons ever, although I don't feel like it's getting the exposure and respect it deserves.

The "robot" mode of djoker is too much when Fed can't get his first serves at a >65% clip.

We'd have had a much nicer final instead of the rather dull one of yesterday.

awww...you mad? Talking about Federer like he was ever some offensive great like his hero, Pete Sampras...just adorable. Federer was never as good as Pete Sampras, ever...he dominated the weakest era of tennis, period.

Sure, I am mad because some tennis player lost a match.

Look, Djokovic is virtually unbeatable most of the times, both have cases for GOAT, both are great champions and persons.
I personally prefer Federer for a number of reasons, but I am not Djokovic's hater by any means.
If Federer is not an offensive great, however, I wonder how he gained all the success he did, since he's certainly not a defensive baseliner...
Roger is the continuation of the type of player Sampras (who was my idol too) was, someone that makes things happen with a unique variety and effectiveness.

And the one tennis player that I always cheer for, no matter whom he plays against, is Gasquet, not Federer
