Why are people going apesh*t over that scene? It was a barrel of laughs! If I was black, I wouldn't have been offended AT ALL.

Also, he wasn't originally supposed to play that role. He was supposed to be the pusher dude, but decided he needed to direct the Uma OD scene himself.

That scene is golden. The writing is classic. I hate bigotry but I never took offense to that scene. Tarantino is simply someone who explores the ridiculous imagination of everyday sh!t. I don't view it as a threat

Tarantino can never be overrated, Pulp Fiction is a top 10 movie all-time and he'll probably never top it, but he can make 10 Garfield movies and it still doesn't diminish his accomplishment. Reservoir Dogs is ok but outside of it and Pulp Fiction I don't care for Tarantino's movies, but like I said Pulp Fiction is THAT good.

OP's gratuitous use of the "N-Word" immediately brought this to mind:

I never got the hoopla with Pulp Fiction.

I find his movies amusing for a few watches. After that, the over-the-top characters and zany dialog becomes stale.

I like Jackie Brown the best. The characters are more than just stylized IMO. The friendship between Max Cherry and Jackie really gives the film a little more substance than what we see in his other movies.

Completely agree, its my favorite too. JB is his one movie that is (somewhat) grounded in reality rather than being a fleshed-out cartoon.

QT is a person that believes words only have power if you give it power

a racist word evokes emotion and reaction, which is what a writer like him desires from the dialogue

i say use it wisely, but QT does use it tactfully and shouldn't worry, if his character is racist then so be it

i like the scene in R dogs where mr pink says "you guys are acting like a bunch of ni9ggers"

knowing that QT is not a racist himself, i'm fine with it, stereotypes about race shouldn't be considered racist
