Default Re: Lebron James is getting too much credit for going back to Cleveland

    OP is 100% correct.

Lebron flat-out skips the player development stages that young supporting casts go through, along with the ups and downs of having tenure with a team, and instead gets to immediately play with established, veteran, all-stars..

It's like using a cheat code to skip levels.

His natural style of playing the game can be suboptimal and less adjustable at times, so he can't build a team FROM SCRATCH in his image and win at the highest level.

Instead, in order to win, he must team-hop to whoever has the very best talent - ALL of his championships will be won this way.

Indeed, the Cavs are the only team in the league with 3 all-stars..

Do you really respect someone that used a cheat code to skip levels, compared to other competitors that beat the game straight up by going through ALL the stages that build towards a championship?

2012 - 24 wins, 58 losses, missed playoffs, 2nd worst record in the NBA, Kyrie Irving is still there.
2013 - 33 wins, 49 losses, missed playoffs, 5th worst record in the NBA, Kyrie Irving is still there doing his thing.

Miami with Lebron during those 4 years had 4 straight Finals appearances and 2 championships......

He really went to a better team huh?

2014 Cavs = Same exact team as previously, with an addition of Kevin "empty stats" (as you guys call him) Love (and he wasnt doing so extremly much better than Kyrie/Cavs either)..... these guys would get probably a couple more wins and probably still miss the playoffs anyways... in the EAST........

Infact, you can place today Lebron on the 15 win-67 loss Milwaukee Bucks and they WILL immediately become a playoff team and if teams cant stop his 1 on 5 one man offense in the playoffs he might even take them to the Finals..... am i delusional or did i just simply see him do stuff like take the worst supporting cast in NBA history to the Finals?

Hell see how well Miami does this season without him compared to Cavs..... and please keep the excuses away "Wade is old, bla bla bla", STOP, they simply dont have Lebron..... Cavs do.... and thats why they will be better only because of him, immediately....

Lebron knew the management were going to get him significant help BEFORE he arrived in Cleveland. Lebron knew he had a very good situation he was going into.

Cavs were set up very well with contracts and flexibility, so they were able to get him the players that he wanted. Which I'm sure they discussed before his return to Cleveland.

Please, you can't be that stupid

if anything, he gets too little credit. what have the cavs done, per contending, since james' departure back in 2010?

what happened to miami, who was a perennial one and done team / completely doormat since shaq's departure?

dots connecting yet? lebron single handedly made these franchises relevant again, winning multiple mvps, and either taking teams to the finals or winning larry o'brien trophies boosting said teams market value.

there has been NO ONE in league history who has done MORE with LESS than lebron.

in comparison, the so-called "greatest", jordan, was 1-9 in the playoffs without scottie pippen. who were lebron's teammates in cleveland? any, at the time, superstars? took one of the weakest supporting casts in nba history to the finals, carrying the franchise on his back at 22 years of age. that is GREATNESS.

you put at least another allstar caliber player beside lebron, and he will contend. 2 allstar caliber players and he is leading you to a title.

the only reason love went to the cavs is because lebron was there which makes your comment absolutely idiotic.
i could understand your comment if love was already eager to join the cavs even if lebron didn't come but that was just not the case. You are essentially saying that lebron is not only the best player on the cavs, he is also one of the best GMs in the league and for that he should be blamed.
Cleveland would have had kyrie with rookie wiggins for years to come and they would have had similar or may be 3-4 more wins than last year. that is it. Love would not have come.

Well no, Cavs management would of layed out their plan to get Lebron help. They would of explained to him their contract situation, their cap, and what players they were looking to add. He already knew that he had a bare minimum of Irving/Wiggins/Waiters/Bennett/Varejao around him PLUS some of his old buddies from the Heat to join him.

I cannot prove that Lebron KNEW about the Love trade BEFORE he joined the Cavs, but I suspect it.

It's not like Lebron doesn't understand that if a team has lots of flexibility and a good cap situation, that they can get the right help for him. As you said, Love wanted to go there because of Lebron and Cavs knew they had the pieces to get it done and Lebron would of known that beforehand.

The "coming home" letter specifically left traded pieces out of it, so you tell me whether Lebron knew something about the Love trade before it happened..

    Nice avatar BTW

This is absolutely correct. Lebron knew that Miami Heat team is getting old, he has no use for them. Instead, he does his returning home BS, it's not gonna be easy but recruits Kevin Love and other proven veterans. This is basically Miami's version of the collusion. Collusion 2.0. But because of his essay, to dumb fans he is a home town hero. Stacking the deck as usual.
