Lebron relies on his physicality a lot when driving to the rim...especially now. Before, he at least relied on athleticism and the quick first step, plus good reactionary moves. But he's stacked a lot of muscle in that body. Yes, his frame (not just talking height) can handle it and he hardly looks jacked. He looks in spectacular shape (and is). But he's not only not quite as fast or as quick, but he's not as swift in movement.
I don't think he depends on athleticism, but he relies on it and his physicality a lot more than Jordan did. Jordan is a much more skilled player. Lebron is a more all-around player. But he's also a different kind of player than Jordan. That doesn't make him more completely, necessarily. Michael did everything well.

Does everyone not rely on athleticism when you drive to the rim? Especially peak jordan? Speed, strength, cuts? It's more athleticism than skill when you drive to the rim, it's about how you finish and lebron clearly has the skill of all time greats in that department.
