Tony Parker scored 30 points and the Spurs finally won a close finish in San Antonio, beating the Golden State Warriors 107-106 on Tuesday night.

Roger Mason scored 24 and sank the go-ahead jumper with 23.8 seconds left as the Spurs dodged a rare three-game skid after last-minute losses against Boston and Houston last week.

The Spurs didn't buckle down the stretch this time, but it was close. Monta Ellis had two chances to win it for Golden State but missed a jumper with 5.9 seconds left, then watched his running 3-pointer as time expired clank off the front of the rim.

Ellis led the Warriors with 27 points and Stephen Jackson had 18.

Tim Duncan scored 13 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter and had 10 rebounds for San Antonio, but was stripped with 33.9 seconds left and watched Kelenna Azubuike scoop up the loose ball and coast down for an easy layup.

That gave the Golden State a 106-105 lead, their first in nearly 6 minutes. But Mason took a handoff from Duncan the next time down, swept to the top of the key and drilled an 18-footer for the game-winner.

Azubuike finished with 13 for the Warriors, who have lost 17 of their last 19 road games. They have two more left on their four-game road swing with a stop in Dallas on Wednesday.

The Spurs gave up their longtime Southwest Division lead with a loss Sunday to Houston, but could move back atop the division should the Rockets lose later Tuesday to Utah.

This Game was way too close, but I will take it. We really needed a W. Especially after loosing two straight Home Games by 3 points or less.

Clutch shot by Roger Mason and then we got lucky on two defensive possessions where Ellis couldn't get his shots to fall. Anyone else notice that Timmy was NOT in the game for defense in crunch time? Pop is a little hesitant after that Houston game.

Ellis's shot at the buzzer reminded me of Stephon Marbury game winning shot with the Suns in the playoffs a few years ago. Thank God it didn't go in. I swear my heart was pounding as it was in the air.

EDIT: Not to mention we regained the 2nd spot in the West after just one day.
