I never watched a lot of breaking bad, although I liked it, I just have a hard time getting into shows.

But I watched Better Call Saul tonight and really enjoyed it.

It's supposed to be a prequal right? What are the connections to breaking bad? Saul is a new and original character not mentioned in BB, right?

Nah Saul's a supporting character in Breaking Bad. His condition in the present (black and white beginning) is due to events of Breaking Bad. The show is basically his backstory

I really liked this. Felt very different tonally from Breaking Bad but really fit Saul's character

I wouldn't even really say it started off slow. It started off to introduce characters, like any good plot/show does. Can't wait till tomorrow night. Even if this show isn't as good as BB, it should still be entertaining as hell.

It was pretty good. Looking forward to a Gus cameo, and maybe Walt and/or Jesse.

It was commissioned as a "comedy drama". But if you expected full on comedy yeah you're a dumbass.

I liked the pilot, thought it was really well done and I really like the way the writers pace the show and the way they film certain shots (which was similar to breaking bad). I've got high hopes for the rest of the season now.
