Default Covering up my old tattoo

I've had this tattoo and it's a little dated. Just a plain red cross on my right arm. Had it for 18 years now.
My boy who has his own shop traded me out $300 worth of supplements and he's doing a piece for me for free.
The cross is going to be covered up with a bed of roses (my wife's name is Rose)
On top of the Roses will be an Angel (my name)
The face of the angel will be the image of my son. Wings are going to be on the back and across the chest.

Anyways, it's going to at least 3 sessions he says. I'll post pics when it's done.
Meanwhile here's a pic of what it looks like now (plus a little cheese for the ladies )

Nice at least its not solid black so it won't be TOO hard to cover up. I had one of mine covered up so i can get it redone bigger somewhere else and you can't see it at all

if price was no issue, would you rather have the cover up or just get the old one removed?

The bed of roses was really clever. The way he drew it on the trace paper was really good. I can't go lower than the bottom end of the cross so only way to build was up and around the chest and back

Cover up no doubt. I love how a tattoo is a unique expression of yourself and a way to identify you. My tat has meaning so it's that much more precious to me.

That sounds very cool. I like the meaning to it. Tbh, I think that's how tats should be done, have meaning to the owner.

Another example of how tattoos are fashion statements.

Keywords "dated" as mentioned by OP and now it has "meaning" and "unique"

The reason why he's covering it up because he got credit from the supplements so he has to spend it.

The real solution is just get it removed. Since you are trying to build your body, why even put graffiti on it.

It's easier to remove the cross than an entire cover-up. You're going to regret it down the road like you are wit the cross.

Watch as that new tattoo stretches or shrinks since when building your body.

I've been wanting to do this for a while now. it's a lot of dough to do a cover up. I glad my buddy takes supplements

Why you so bothered by this? I've wanted to do this for a while, my friend takes suppy's. Fair trade. It doesn't affect my job and I can get something professionally done over a quick trace I did when I was a kid
