What role do you see Amare playing this summer? Will his game fit in with the international style? I thought he deserved more playing time in the 04 games.

I see Amare's role as the only true interior offensive weapon we have, which in any case is quite sad. Flashbacks of Bosh being so easily pushed out of the paint by the likes of Daniel Santiago and Dwight's inability to get anything other than easy dunks are starting to set in. Despite the notion that international bigs should all be shooters, the ability to score down on the block is crucial. In fact, almost every US team in the past has dominated the paint statistically both in points and rebounds.

But the true thing is: How was Amare's understanding of the game improved? Mainly, the ability to operate with a new PG like Billups. I know he has developed his midrange jumper, that I am impressed with.

JJ Reddick would not even be a major factor in the Olympics just because he can hit those 3 Points shoot in the Collegiate Level...... does not mean he can easily be a Reggie Miller in the International Competition. International game is different from the style of playing in the NBA. Someone must set a screen on JJ Reddick because taller opponents can easily block his shoots.


I do not like Kobe but in terms of this situation i trust a player who is not only a one dimensional player like JJ. Kobe can at least defend the perimeter while Reddick cannot even guard a salt shaker.

the recent games ( FIBA 2006) played by the USA Team exhibited the improvement of the NT's outside sniping...moreover the quickness and speed of the squad, an obvious advantage of the USA team was exploited more frequently in breaking the opposing team's interior defense.

with this development, a Player like Kobe Bryant/ Carmelo Anthony will have a better chance to grab the starting slot

The USA Team would not just trusts on the "streak shooting" of JJ Reddick just to break the zone defense of the opponents.


Beside Kobe Bryant is a much better overall defender than Air Brick.

International teams/players are much fundamentally sound than most NBA player beside their big men can hit those outside shoots. NBA Player are the better athlete but one of the main weapon of the foreigners is they have a better ball rotation and rely on teamwork rather than individual talent.

I think the Americans must now learn to forget the NBA Style of playing because Showtime cannot take this team to the next’s level. Learn on consistently breaking and playing against the zone.

NBA Players must also be familiarize with a lot of the rules in the FIBA Competition because one of the reason their opponent is using this as a weapon to defeat the Americans is because NBA players are more familiarized with their own rule.


Beside NBA players played more than 82 gamers per season including the playoffs unlike in Europe or in Asia where the span of games is much shorter compare to a normal NBA Season.

I think the overall fatigue of this players are one of the few reasons... they are pretty burn up in the International Competition.
