Default Toronto Raptors 66 games to be split by TSN and Sportsnet

http://sports.nationalpost.com/2011/...tsn-sportsnet/

Quote:
The Toronto Raptorsí broadcasting rights, not surprisingly, are going to be split between their new co-owners.

TSN, owned by Bell Canada Enterprises, and Rogers Sportsnet, owned by Rogers Media, will split the teamís 66 games in the abbreviated season. Each company purchased 37.5% of Maple Leaf Sports Entertainment, the company that owns the Raptors, Maple Leafs, Marlies and Toronto FC, in a deal last week.

TSN will have 37 games, with 18 on the main network and 19 on TSN2. TSN will have several of the marquee games, including games against Dallas (Dec. 30), Phoenix (Jan. 24), Miami (Feb. 5) and the Lakers (Feb. 12). TSN2 will air the Heatís lone visit to the Air Canada Centre, on March 30.

Sportsnet will be showing 20 games on Sportsnet One, with the other nine on Sportsnetís four regional channels. Sportsnet has the season opener in Cleveland on Boxing Day, while Sportsnet One will get games against New York (Jan. 2), Boston (April 13) and Miami (April 18).

Matt Devlin will serve as the play-by-play man for all of the games. Leo Rautins will be the analyst on Sportsnet games, while Jack Armstrong will be the analyst on TSN games.

wtf? why have tsn2 cover games at all? the whole point is to open up access to everyone but all this does is make sure the same ownership group gets all the ratings all the time
