Most Presidents, no. But Trump... they'd probably go after him for obstruction.

No, it wouldn't be infrastructure week with this administration without some crime or scandal coming to light. Why are you trying to mess with tradition?

“Given the DOJ’s own recent investigations, prosecutions, and convictions involving Appellant and his affiliates, including the prosecution of Michael Cohen, in which Appellant [Trump] was referenced as an unindicted co-conspirator, the DOJ cannot (and does not) join in Appellant’s claim to an absolute immunity,” Vance and his colleagues wrote in a submission to the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. “Appellant’s aggressive immunity claim here is particularly hollow in view of his failure to raise it in these recent investigations and prosecutions.”

not sure how often the manhattan d.a. just let's unindicted co-conspirators walk away from their crimes.

Trump tax returns must go to grand jury, appeals court rules

time will tell.

Yeah I also doubt anything will happen to Trump whether he is out in 2020 or 2024...unless the Democrat who replaces him has a personal vendetta against him and goes after Trump aggressively...not too many politicians want to go there, going after political rivals after they leave office, that'll open a Pandora's box few want to open, me thinks.

Would be ironic and funny as hell though if Trump ends up in prison after all his "lock her up!" BS. Alas, certain nations have imprisoned former presidents but can't see that happening in the US...

those are records for not only the dear leader himself, but also for his businesses.

those businesses have been hemorrhaging cash since the goat election, down 89% in chicago alone. he's tryna sell the d.c. hotel. he got chased outta nyc.

now add on tax and bank fraud charges on top of all that... maga as a business enterprise is over, even if the emperor is temporarily insulated personally by the olc.

if he cared about anyone but himself, like his kids and grandkids, he would do the right thing.

Did we ever delve into Manafort's ex son-in-law?

From two years ago...

Quote:
Federal investigators are examining financial transactions involving Paul Manafort and his son-in-law, who embarked on a series of real estate deals in recent years fueled by millions of dollars from Mr. Manafort, according to two people familiar with the matter.

The transactions involve the financing of apartments and luxury homes in New York and California using money from Mr. Manafort, as well as from other investors solicited by the son-in-law, Jeffrey Yohai, including the actor Dustin Hoffman and his son. F.B.I. agents have reviewed financial records related to Mr. Yohai, who has been accused in a lawsuit of defrauding investors, the sources said.

And yesterday...

Quote:
Paul Manafort's former son-in-law has been sentenced in Los Angeles to nine years in prison for pulling a series of schemes totaling more than $13 million, including one that bilked $3 million from actor Dustin Hoffman.

U.S. District Judge Andre Birotte Jr. ordered Jeffrey Yohai to pay $6.7 million in restitution on Friday for the schemes, some of which were carried out while he was released on bond for similar crimes.

"This is an individual who has an evil mind — I don't know how else to say it," the judge said. "It seems he felt he could do whatever he wants - but that buck stops here."

"Defendant has done tremendous damage to a huge number of victims," Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Brown wrote in a court filing. Yohai "has shown an almost unbelievable compulsion to defraud others, to the point that he could not stop even while awaiting this court's judgment on him in the first case, which strongly suggests that he will continue on his criminal path despite having been blessed with so many advantages."

"Worse, he seems to enjoy committing fraud and revels in cheating others out of their hard-earned money, as though he thought real work was only for patsies," Brown added.

Yohai had once been married to Manafort's daughter, Jessica. Yohai's name surfaced during the bank and tax fraud trial for Manafort, the former campaign chairman for Donald Trump's presidential campaign. Manafort has been convicted several federal crimes and agreed to cooperate with investigators in the Russia probe.

I think we can count him as one of the casualties of the "witchhunt."

On all 7 counts... ouch. All the President's men.

Roger Stone found guilty of lying to Congress, witness tampering

Roger Stone has been found guilty on all charges in a case accusing the longtime Donald Trump adviser of seeking to thwart a House investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

After a trial that spanned just over a week, a federal court jury in Washington, D.C., convicted Stone on five felony counts of lying to investigators, one of obstructing a congressional probe and one of witness tampering.

The charges against Stone were brought by Robert Mueller and handed off to career federal prosecutors in Washington after the special counsel’s Russia probe ended this spring.
