Re: Gaming Nostalgia
Yeah, vanilla was great. Even though I came a few months late to the party (was still playing FFXI) and was trying to level on a PvP server... constant ganks in Ashenvale, stealthed 60 rogues everywhere. Back when people actually did world PvP.
The first 40-man Ironforge raid I saw was pretty dope.

Err, off the top of my head.. By console I guess:
Super Street Fighter II
Mortal Kombat
NBA Jam TE
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time
Mario Paint
Super Mario World
Ecco the Dolphin
Sonic the Hedgehog
Virtua Fighter 2
Gauntlet Legends
Time Crisis
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Power Rangers the movie
Streets of Rage
Megaman V
Pokemon (everything)
Tony Hawk Pro Skater
International Superstar Soccer 98'
Fighter's Destiny
WWF Wrestlemania 2000
WCW vs. NWO: WorldTour
Wave Race 64
Bomberman 64
Mario Kart 64
Diddy Kong Racing
GoldenEye 007
Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside
Vigilante 8
Super Smash Bros
Have never been into PC gaming. Although Oregon Trail, Mixed Up Mother Goose, Backyard Soccer, Sim Town, and this dinosaur game, which for the life of me I can't remember the name of... Certainly carry some nostalgia.
I'm also remembering this game on a handheld where you walked around on a giant hill and played casino games. I don't remember which gaming unit, nor the name of the game.
I put a lot of minutes into each of those games and remember them pretty vividly. That's between SNES and N64. Some console, some handheld, one section for arcade. I blame my brother and parents.
Sadly, I've outgrown video games for the most part. The only games I now play are the 2k Basketball series, and Madden on odd years and NCAA Football on even years (I alternate). Occasionally I'll purchase a game that looks good. Got into the Mass Effect series a little. Planning to get the new Assassin's Creed game... I haven't played any of the previous ones. But that's about it. I blame life.

Games I've spent the most time playing(rough estimate):
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2
Socom 2
Rise of Nations
Age of Empires
ESPN 2K5
NBA 2K7
Crash Team Racing
Super Mario Bros
Pokemon Yellow
all of those I've wasted away days playing. I don't regret it at all. I do regret putting faith in Socom 4, that game was nowhere near S2.

I remember spending a lot of time on the PC version. My fingers hurt after every session because I pressed my keyboard's buttons too hard.

Best video game ever made. It was slightly before my time, but still I haven't had more fun with any single video since this one.

Re: Gaming Nostalgia
When I would go to my cousin's house as a kid I used to be able to play Playstation. We used to fiend on Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, Crash Team Racing and Mortal Kombat Trilogy (since the one on N64 sucked).
Since I had a 64 at my house, I had all of the games like:
Killer Instinct (GOAT N64 fighting game; Kim Wu <3)
WWF No Mercy (The first time I ever shoplifted in my life was for this game)
WWF Wrestlemania 2000 (A nice prequel to No Mercy)
Goldeneye 007 (OG FPS)
Conker's Bad Fur Day (GOAT N64 platformer)
Diddy Kong Racing (Very underrated N64 classic)
Donkey Kong 64 (Multiplayer was more fun than single player imo)
Pokemon Stadium / Pokemon Stadium 2 (It's Pokemon. Enough said)
NBA Jam 99 (I remember using "Number 99" on the Bulls that was a fake Jordan. Used to beast in the streetball mode where you could tackle people)
Mario Kart 64
I didn't mention games like Legend of Zelda, Super Mario 64 or Banjo Kazooie because I never really played those.

Re: Gaming Nostalgia
On Super Nintendo, I used to like classics like Super Mario World, Street Fighter II Turbo, Breath Of Fire I & II.
On Gameboy, I just used to play all of the Pokemon and Yugioh games. And the DBZ Legacy Of Goku series.
On Gamecube, just 007 Nightfire, DBZ Sagas (game was so bad was so fun with 2 people), Pokemon Colosseum and Super Smash Bros Melee.
On PS2, shit, all of the WWE wrestling games up until the first Smackdown vs. Raw. I stopped after that. And all of the DBZ games. DBZ Budokai 3 used to be my shit. Same with Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Kingdom Hearts 2 (I didn't play the first one), 007 Agent Under Fire, the GTA series (GTA III was my first GTA game), Yugioh Duelist Of The Roses (great soundtrack) and NBA Street

Re: Gaming Nostalgia
Ocarina of Time wasn't the masterpiece I remembered it to be. In 2012, the 3d feels clumsy, stiff, and it was one of the weaker Zelda stories.

Re: Gaming Nostalgia
Vanilla wow was awesome, I only made it as far as MC but it actually felt epic and social getting groups together back then. 5 man dungeons were worthwhile and fun and epics actually meant something. I remember seeing people decked out in instantly recognisable gear sets and everyone milling around just to inspect them. If they did an EQ and released a server locked on Vanilla WoW i'd probably sub up to play it (and don't tell me to goto a private server).
I've got a couple of arcade cabinets set up with old school games, ones got a couple thousand mame games on it and the metal slug series, 1940 series, raiden, tmnt, x-men are all classic arcade games. My other cabinets got shooters, can't beat time crisis and house of the dead (I love the voice acting "don't come! don't come!")
