Default Andre Iguodala: the next Scottie Pippen?

First, this isn't a bandwagon thread based on just one stellar performance. I made that comparison because I thought Iguodala is on the way of becoming one of the most versatile player in the league.

The guy does almost everything on the court: attacking the basket, distributing the ball, rebounding, hitting 3s (not consistent though) defence and he's already doing them on a pretty high level for a swingman. He has been pretty much taking charge of the team since Iverson left and has already shown some leadership and clutchness. I think it's possible that he will become a player like Pippen in a couple of years.

Here is their 3rd year's stats comparion:

    Andre Iguodala

    18.0ppg 5.8rpg 5.7apg 2.0spg 45% 29% 82% 40mins

    Scottie Pippen

    16.5ppg 6.7rpg 5.3apg 2.6spg 49% 25% 68% 38mins

A good thing for Iguodala is that he is about one and half years younger than Pippen at that stage.

What's your opionion, do you think Iguodala will become the next Pippen in 2 or 3 years time?

(By the way, can someone please find 76er's records before and after Iverson left the team? As far as I remember they used to be at the bottom of the league at some point but look at them now: 23-28, won 6 of the last 10 and are 5 wins away from the 8th seed Magic, I think it has a lot to do with Iguodala taking charge of the team. Also, someone please find Iguodala's stats before and after Iverson left, I remember his production was very limited at the beginning of the season thanks to Iverson's dominance, but given his current numbers, he must have been putting up 20 7 7 lately.)

    I found this from nba.com

    19.6ppg 6.8rpg 6.9apg 1.6spg for the last 10 games
    23.8ppg 8.0rpg 7.2apg 2.4 spg for the last 5

That's some prime Grant Hill production if you ask me.

iggy plays for a horrible team, look at jj in atlanta, stats can be inflated by nothing being there(good players). Put iggy on a good team and he'd be the 3rd,4th or 5th option, give him a couple more years. he's on par in my mind to be another guy like joe johnson right now, ain't nothing to special to me, call me in 2 years.

I understand your point but I disagree. The hawks sucked before JJ and they still do, so I think you can make an argument of JJ's stats being inflated on a bad team. However, the sixer's was sitting at the bottom and was much worse than the Hawks early this season, yet they've become a much better team and have been catching up on the standings since Iggy became the 1st option. Coincidence? Maybe, but unlike JJ, Iggy imo is exactly the kind of player that does everything for his team and be able to make a difference, kinda like Pippen in some way.
