What baffled me the most is Andrea, took her like 45 mins. to pick the shit off the ground. WTF? And she just sat there and stared at the nerd dude and tried to see if e turned or not. For me, regardless if he was still alive or not --- I would not stop to try to pick that thing up off the ground with my F***** foot. WRITERS ARE JUST DUMB AS **** SOMETIMES, AND IT PISSES ME OFF.
I was ok with the level of action. It felt a little amatuerish the way the Gov approached the prison. All of his prep, all of his equipment, some expert level guidance from guys like Martinez, and it never occurs to him to come from various sides, create a perimeter, to avoid an ambush? Instead he goes steamrolling in, driving over tire spikes, and blowing up guardtowers with a grenade launcher? It felt over the top agressive, which I suppose they were going for with the character, but that's not what we got out of that character all season.
Why would they have gone any other way? The Governor turned into a rather brash character and that's the way they approached the assault. He was pissed off, knew he had a big number advantage and was basically doing a show of force not caring which of his expendable people died in the process.
I've never been convinced that Carl is a "badass", he's doing an okay job but I wouldn't mind him being killed off.
I miss Shane/
I miss Shane too.
You have to wonder how much Shane has influenced the metamorphasis of Carl. When Rick was presumed dead, he was pretty much Carls' de facto father and this was for several months to a year.
Shane was the one that said they had to move on after they could not find the little girl on the farm. Then after the epic scene at the barn in S2 Carl said Shane was pretty much right all along, whereas during the search he echoed his father Ricks' mantra that they would not abandon the search.
You also have to think back to the scene in S2 where Shane went all in on Carl for trying to speak to the captive, chastising Carl for even entertaining any dialouge and warning him he would try and trick Carl into freeing him.
There was also a scene days later in S2 where Carl gives Darryls' gun back and Shane tries to tell him to keep the gun even forcing it on him. After Carl rejects the gun Shane yells to him when he walks off, "Carl!! Just don't get yourself killed okay?"
You know Shane never thought Rick could keep the group safe, and thats just trickled down to Carl.
