The only real threats there are Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett.

Only one of those guys played for a playoff team and they were an eight seed. you are correct in the fact that some talent has shifted, but it was barely picked up on the Ricther scale.

The current west teams still own...and now they have Jefferson, Durant and Oden added to the west side.

Future and the present is still owned by the west.

    thank you come again.

The Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets can probably destory the Eastern Conferance, and the Nuggets can grab a top 3 seed if there are there.

And the Spurs, Mavs, Suns haven't been included yet. So power has shifted very slightly to the East, but not that much and the West is still top heavy.

you still don't need to be over .500 in order to be in the playoffs probably.

Sure, the east still isn't equal to the west. But thank goodness a few solid players will end up there without them loosing many...other than the top lottery picks.

    This could help things out.

Zach Randolph will dominate in the east. The knicks will go as far as their chemistry in the front court allows. People are forgetting about the Magic, I think they (with some development at SG/SF) can make some serious noise this year.
After S.A., Hou, PHX....the rest of the league is wide open.

we'll see. LBJ has no team to run against the west with and without Shaq, Wade doesn't either. Dwight? His team mortgaged their future on Rashard...hope it works out for them.

Why is there some theory that zach will dominate the east. He played his worst ball last year in the east last year.

I hope the turbulence of incoming players in the east doesn't destroy some of the east teams that are developing. The power rankings will be really interesting this year for those east teams.

It's true, that will actually hurt the east in the long term. Bad contract.

Hmmm, Oden... Durant... The Rockets got better, Utah will be better. The East diminished the gap a little, but a lot more work needs to be done before things even out between the conferences.
