He's not wrong tho.

Marijuana should just be dealt as alcohol is dealt with in the league. You can drink it all you want you just can't get in trouble or come to the game/practices drunk.

Weed is illegal most everywhere in USA. Alcohol is not.

I don't see the logic in that comparison at all. The NFL would look shady if they said "Even though Weed is illegal to possess, we believe it's OK to not only possess it but smoke it as well"

You can possess and drink alcohol legally.

It's illegal for anyone in America to possess heroin.

It's illegal for anyone in America to possess Vicodin Percocet etc without a valid prescription.

Why can't marijuana be the same?

The hypocrisy is borderline RetOArded.

Weed is not illegal most everywhere in the US. Medical weed is legal in most states with a NFL team, and recreational is legal at the home of the broncos and the seahawks. The entire nation is rapidly trending toward legal weed. Its time for the NFL to get with the times.

Tons of NBA players smoke weed but you never see them getting suspended for an entire season over it, in fact you never hear anything about it... because the NBA knows weed doesnt matter

I am thinking the NFL wants to wait until it is legal on a recreational level in 26 states.

Right now it we are at 2 states.

People should be fighting for lowered penalties with pot in the NFL...no trying to jump straight into letting players blaze up on the sideline...still got a little time before that.

Also, it's just really hard to feel bad for guys in the NFL getting suspended for pot...it has to be a THIRD STRIKE before a suspension...I mean fck, if the NFL isn't important enough for you to stop getting high, then maybe you shouldn't be playing anyway.

where did i say anything about letting players blaze on the sideline?

in the NBA it doesnt matter how many strikes you have, you will never get suspended an entire season for marijuana. the NFL needs to adopt the NBAs stance on weed.

its not a performance enhancing drug and it doesnt hurt anybody, if athletes want to smoke weed they should be allowed to do it.

right, less penalty...like I said

not just coming out and declaring "it's cool to smoke weed now, we don't care!"

if the NFL wants to take the "cause weed is illegal" stance then medical weed should be allowed for any player with a perscription, and players should be able to smoke recreationally while they are in Colorado and Washington.

If a player has a scrip then I agree...that's probably rare though I am guessing

i would think pretty much every single NFL player could get a weed perscription, they arent exactly hard to get

several years ago I managed to get a perscription for "chronic back pain", took me about 30 minutes and a few hundred dollars.

I dont have back pain
