Default How sad would it be if these legends never had a good team around them?

Jordan, Magic, Bird

Think about what a disservice it would be to basketball fans around the world if the front office of these legend's respective team never got a good team around them. Sure, they would still be seen as some of the greatest players of all time, but their teams would not have dominated in their eras without the great supporting players to put them over the top.

That's why someone like Kobe deserves to have a dynasty built around him. He deserves to play with players that are winner. Just like Jordan had Rodman and Pippen, just like Magic has Kareem and Worthy, just like Bird had McHale and Parish, Kobe needs to play with some good player so his talents won't be wasted. It's a disservice to his rare talent and to basketball fans to watch him play with the likes of Coby Karl (wtf?), Sasha Vuijcic (top 324253 player of all time), or Luke Walton. It would be really good for basketball if we can have another dominant player with a good team, especially with the Boston's big 3 and the up and coming young players in the rest of the league.

Jordan would be just like he was his first 5 or so seasons in the league. Still the best scorer in the game, and MVP candidate, but he would never get anywhere in the playoffs.

Bird and Magic, it's hard to judge because they came into the league with talent around them.

Which pretty much explains Kobe, as of now.

Kobe has 3 rings on 4 Finals and played for one of the greatest teams ever. I think he'll be alright.

Kobe already had great players around him. He was instrumental in bringing 3 ships to LA. Shaq helped tremendously... when he wasn't nursing his big toe.

It can be argued that they made the talent around them better.
For some odd reason I think these three in particular could have found success regardless.
