I don't think he'll ever see any time in Detroit, but in my opinion he's the hidden gem of the NBA. He's a great drive-and-dish point guard, he's got a good outside shot contrary to what the fools at E!spn think, and the man can dunk at 6'.
He holds his college's record for standing vertical jump and regular vertical jump, his standing vertical was 34 inches which was just broken by freshman Wesley Johnson with 34 1/2 and his regular vertical jump was 41 3/4.
I've seen him dunk without getting a running start before too, he's so damn explosive.
The Detroit Pistons announced today that they have assigned guard Will Blalock and reassigned forward Amir Johnson to their NBA Development League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
If what you say of him is true, he should take Hunter's spot (if Lindsey retires) next year.
But remember Blalock did play for a stretch this year when Hunter was injured and he looked like a rookie who was in a little over his head. I think he played about 15 minutes per game for about a week or two.
Detroit needs a point guard who can shoot as well as drive and dish so their offense doesn't go stagnant every time Billups leaves the game, I hope Blalock is the answer but I am skeptical since he slipped to the end of the second round.
i cant beleive we passed up allan ray with our last pick, that cat there is a serious baller, outstanding 3pt shot and can handle the rock neatly, i think he will turn out to be a gem...
As much as I love the team now.. they have a bright future with these young guys coming up in the next few years. I really can't wait to see Max and Amir playing big roles in the near future. And it would be great to still have an older and wiser Rip and Tayshaun to go along with them by then. It would be good to still have Chuancey too.
