Celtics/Grizz working on deal for Bayless/Lee

The Boston Celtics' trade to acquire Jarryd Bayless from the Memphis Grizzlies now includes a third team, ESPN's Marc Stein reported Monday.

According to Stein, the Oklahoma City Thunder will send Ryan Gomes to Boston, with the Celtics expected to waive Gomes.


The Grizzlies will receive Courtney Lee and a second-round pick, likely from 2016.

Exactly. One of the Grizzlies beat writers explained it best by saying the Grizz feel like Lee is the best type of player they could get here for their MLE so instead of trying to spend all summer persuading someone to come here for that money, they just made this trade for a guy that fits that role.

Well, it is always easier to trade for the right piece as at the very least you know the asking price and don't get into a bidding war with more cap-flexible teams (that tend to overspend).

Also, if the OKC Thunder are involved, where does that have Bayless ending up? Beantown or OKC? I don't know if OKC have any real use for him as they already have Reggie Jackson who is a similar type of player (more a 2G, not the best 3pt shooter, and not a true PG).
