Beginning of a New Era
I've been on the bandwagon for a few years now and even though my heart is still with the Warriors, I quietly root for this young Blazers team. This team was put together the right way with young talented players unlike how the Warriors put together their team. This is a team that will make the playoffs this season and will be a champion before 2015. Yes, thats a bold statement. While other teams like the Lakers, Spurs, Mavericks and Suns keep getting older..the Blazers will be getting better. They virtually have 2 lottery picks joining them this year in Oden and Bayless with Roy hopefully healthy for the whole season. I don't think there is a tougher line up from the point guard to power forward position than what the Blazers can put on the floor, especially if Bayless becomes that Monta Ellis type player. Their only hole is the small forward position which Batum isn't ready to inherit on a full time basis.
One Idea..The Bobcats were rumored to be shopping Gerald Wallace Of course, it was just a rumor. They lack talent at the power forward position and someone like Ajinca isn't going to contribute in his first year. Jared Dudley has played well when he's in the game and I saw him grab 18 rebounds against my Warriors this past season. I think if the Bobcats can get a nice power forward/center, they would serious consider trading Wallace. The Blazers could sent Frye, Outlaw and Webster for Gerald Wallace. This gives the Cats some depth and a nice power forward in Frye. With Pryzbilla, Oden, Aldridge and Diogu..Frye will find it hard to get minutes. Maybe even throw in a future first round pick to get the Cats to bite.
Line up:
PG Bayless - Blake - Rodriguez
SG Roy - Fernandez
SF Wallace - Batum
PF Aldridge - Diogu
C Oden - Pryzbilla
