Default question regarding phone

I can't seem to get a straight answer from my provider, so here goes........

I have a monthy plan with AT&T. Got a nokia 6085. I have 5MB of internet/media net that I can use each month. My question is, does anyone know the approximate amount of KBs it takes to browse the net? Like, if I wanted to go to espn.com on my phone, how many KB's are used? And do I get charged according to how long I'm on there, or just a certain amount of KB's for accessing it? Also, if I wanted to leave my yahoo messenger/AIM constantly on, will I get charged for that, or just for the messages sent/recieved (which count as texts)? Overall, I'm just confused on how many KBs are used for getting onto a website, and if I'm being charged with HOW LONG I stay on a certain site. Thanks.

I have a phone that is not too much of an upgrade from two cups tied together with string.

So unless your question is, "How do you repair the phone when the string breaks?" I'm not going to be able to help you much.

Get the unlimited data plan or you're going to get hit with overages every month. You can right click on a webpage and go to properties (or page info in Firefox) and find out the memory it takes up. This reply page for example is 12.7kbs but there's really nothing on it except very small images. A regular website can exhaust that 5mb by itself easily. Like on my eBay listing for my LeBrons, my 5 pictures alone are about 4mb.

Thanks for the advice. A lot of what I do is just checking up on sports scores/weather/news and using AIM
