Default NYPD arrests man, chokes him to death (video)

    http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/...icle-1.1873033

Surprised there hasn't been a thread on this yet. Been a pretty big story here in NY.

Basically the police go to arrest this guy, put him in a choke hold, he screams that he can't breathe, then he goes into seizure, and they don't call for an ambulance until it's too late.

Who will protect us from those who protect us?

    Didn't see the thread.

The cop has been stripped of his badge since then.

He should be charged with manslaughter, in my honest opinion.

this surprises me. I guess NY is very different from texas

I dont think the cops were overly brutal. I have cops in my family, and that is how they are trained to take down a person.

Eg. Chokeholds including the RNC, and putting their knee into the back of a downed suspect.

Garner died, which is tragic, but I didnt see the cops beating him with nightsticks or curb stomping/kicking him, ala rodney king.

I think the take down was within police training. IMO most people would have survived that, garner's cardiovascular health was a major factor in his death.

I dont think the cops should have been arresting Garner, but you have to submit to cops. You cant physically resist them when they try to arrest you. If you have case, you should pursue legal remedies after the event. Eg. lawsuits.

^If by "within police training", you mean illegal, then yes, putting him in a chokehold was within police training.
