Luis Scola carried a 2nd unit team to the Finals. It's not really hard to understand. The US has so many good players it's hard to pick one clear favorite, and honestly like you said, they are just too damn good to have one MVP in that team.
i understand his value to his team but again, you are using teh idea that his teammates are not that good in scolas favor - rarely does that ever happen in other sports.
that's a horrible post... did team USA "lump" their stats too by winning every game in a blowout? or were they just trying to leave on a good note?... face it they were all playing ball till the end, just because your losing doesn't mean you have to roll over and play dead...
They didn't leave their starters in there til the very end to "leave on a good note" in a 30+pt blowout, not their fault that their 3rd unit is faaar better than other teams. And for the most part neither did the losing teams. It was OVA and he should've been out.
does team USA get to the medal round without Carmelo?
does Argentina get to the medal round without Scola?
there's your MVP Winner...
agan i understand he played well and his teammates suck. however, like ive said before haivng bad teammates shouldnt be used in his favor (what more could melo do to prove his value?) nor has the MVP always been determed by the player who is needed the most on his team. maybe thats how FIBA always does it, but thats not how other sports have in the past.
