Re: URGENCY- where art thou urgency?
Tough shooting night for most of the guys during early part of the game mostly the first half, but I loved our fight and intensity. Even though we weren't shooting the ball too well we kept it close and kept after it. Defensively we were playing physical and fast.
Eventually when we matched up better our defense continued to get better.
Felt a majority of the calls went against us but the guys kept playing through it all.
Tough hard fought game that we pulled out once our guys got to shooting the ball a little better. Our backcourt of Rose and Butler got it going a little bit in the second half and Mirotic provided a huge boost.
I would like for us to stay home some more on some of the shooters. We cant continue to allow guys like James Jones, Shumpert, Smith and Dellevedova hit wide open threes. I know most of it is off guys collapsing down trying to help on Lebron's dribble drives, but those guys are hitting threes at a high percentage and I feel is hurting us more than Lebron going one on one.
I would allow Jimmy to guard him one on one and just make it as difficult on him as he can. He's been doing a hell of a job. If we need to help or double we should do it only when the guy guarding Mozgov or Thompson is able to help or double.
If Lebron doesn't get doubled or guys don't always converge on him then all these shooters wont get wide open looks and their impact on the game will be very minimal. I'm staying home on all their shooters and not helping off them so Lebron can't kill us with his passing.
Force Lebron and Kyrie into iso ball and their offense becomes stagnant.
Allow Butler and Rose to continue to play great defense on them one on one and force those two guys to outscore our team.
We have the momentum right now thanks to that great buzzer beater by DRose.
Let's win game 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
