Default What if Yao was shorter?

Would Yao have a much harder time if he was about 7'1 or 7 foot?

he would probably have a hard time but not a whole lot. i think he would be more athletic if he was shorter.

I think he'd have a harder time since a lot of what he likes to do is shoot over people, and even now at his current height he still manages to get blocked all the time.

No offense, but with Yao's style of game, if he were shorter, he wouldn't be very effective on the team. He already has a weak playing style, and so if you made him lets say 6'10 or 6'11, you could automatically drop him to about 6 or 7 boards a game. Then, you take away his height advantage and his little fade away shot would be easier to guard so you could take away about 3-4 points on his scoring average, that is unless smaller size led to increased speed. So, i'd say his numbers would look something like 20ppg, 7 rpg, 1.0bpg

I would think that he would need to develop a better jumpshot. He would also need to get stronger and tougher.

Yao would be a Chinese version of Shane Battier, but better at shooting and more athletic.
