Default Sources: Rockets, Wolves to swap Howard, James

So the rockets r now like 3 pg's deep: james, skip, head....would it b a good idea 2 try n get either alston or luther???? both can shoot the 3 which we need in the triangle???? I kno all u ppl r talkin kwame + #19 for Camby, which was already shot down by Denver, but how bout a more realistic trade of kwame for alston + S&T Bonzi??

Rafer sucks dude. He's not a shooter.

I like Luther but I believe he's untouchable.

Rockets will miss the playoffs with 3 great 3 point shooters.

Which gives us the Lakers a better chance of getting a 4-5th seed.

I really don't know for sure.

What I know is that everyone believes that he will be a good player in the league.

He can shoot and he can defend.

I always believed Head to be an offguard, I guess depends on how you look at it. Great trade for the Rockets in my opinion, Alston is not dependable, and they sure liked James from what I remember. Wolves might just be trying to do a shake-up, and I actually like it from their standpoint as well. Trading James opens up more playing time for Jaric, Foye, McCants, and they can all use more time, mainly Jaric. Sucks that he manages to get only 20 minutes per.

getting bonzi would be sweet. now that they traded howard to bring in another guard maybe we can do a swap of cook for bonzi. houston reportedly has some interest in cook for whatever reason and i think bonzi would be a great fit for us. he can score and play great d.

Bonzi turned down a 5 year 36M deal with the Kings last year and accepted 2.5 million from Houston because he wanted to stick it to the Kings for making, what he felt was, an insulting offer. He also thought the Rockets were good enough to go for a title and he could resign with them this year to a much bigger contract.

There is no doubt that Bonzi has all star level talent, but unless he is willing to come to the Lakers for the MLE, I can't see us getting him.

For the Lakers, Bonzi is a nice-to-have type of player that they shouldn't look to get until they address their NEEDS of getting a scoring/defending post player and a quality veteran PG.

I think the real story is that Bonzi (and his agent) grossly over-valued him in the marketplace. They turned down a reasonable deal from Sactown, and then couldn't find anyone willing to pay that amount. Bonzi has a bad reputation. No one will give him the MLE, imo.

I have to agree that very few teams, if any, at this point would gamble on giving him their full MLE. There may be a few teams, like the Lakers, that are mildly interested if the price was right, but only after they acquire what they really need first.

Here is an article that basically agrees with your synopsis.

I like the idea of trying to aquire either Alston or Head. They both would be an upgrade over Smush Parker, and split time with Farmar. However, giving up Kwame for either of them is a horrible idea and, i believe, impossible. Kwame has a big contract next year, but after that he is gone so a lot of teams would like to see him in a trade. Maybe try like Parker or Cook for Head or Alston.

I'm pretty sure Parker's a free agent so that wouldn't work.......
